Barcode order picking and stock counts for WooCommerce. Scan every item to pack accurately, on a phone, a scanner or in your browser.
What it does in WooCommerce
- Runs inside WordPress admin, under WooCommerce > Pickscan. It reads your existing orders and products, so there's nothing to import.
- Pick in the browser from day one. The Pick tab is set up on install, with a scan bar for a keyboard or USB barcode scanner. Each line turns green when picked, amber when part-picked and red when the scan is the wrong item.
- Exact barcode matching. A scan matches the product SKU or the WooCommerce GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN field.
- Product bundles. Bundles from WPC Product Bundles and WooCommerce Product Bundles show with their components grouped, and pickers scan the components.
- Order status, your choice. Turn on Mark Order Completed When Picked to set a correctly picked order to Completed. It's off by default, so Pickscan leaves the status alone unless you ask. At the pack station, Mark Order Completed When Packed is on by default.
- Stock checks. Count on a device and the new quantities are written back to WooCommerce product stock. Paid plans and the trial.
- Activity log and dashboard. A filterable record of every scan and order action by user and device, with a summary of today's picking and stock activity.
- Users and PINs. Pickers sign in on devices with a 4-digit PIN, and there are supervisor roles.
- HPOS compatible, and works with the Cart and Checkout Blocks.
Where you can pick
- In the browser, on the Pick tab, with a keyboard or USB barcode scanner.
- On Android, with the Pickscan app from Google Play, on any Android phone or a rugged scanner such as a Zebra. It uses the camera or a built-in or paired scanner.
- On iPhone and iPad, with the Pickscan app from the App Store.
- At the pack station, a browser packing screen for a packing PC with a USB scanner, using the same picker PINs. Set it up from the plugin; it opens on the network you set it up from.
To pair a phone or tablet, go to Devices > Add Device in the plugin and scan the QR code with the Pickscan app.
Pricing
Devices are unlimited on every plan. Plans differ by the number of orders picked a month: orders completed as correctly picked in that calendar month, on any device or in the browser.
Team
$25 / month
1,500 orders a month
Warehouse
$79 / month
6,000 orders a month
Enterprise
$199 / month
Unlimited orders
Prices are in US dollars, billed monthly through your WooCommerce.com account, so your payment details go to WooCommerce.com and never to Pickscan. The plugin itself is free.
- 14-day free trial of every feature, with no card. You can choose a plan during the trial and keep the trial features until it ends.
- Paid plans are never stopped at the limit. There's a 10% margin, then Pickscan suggests an upgrade.
- On Free, once 100 orders are picked, picking new orders pauses until the 1st of the next month. Stock checks aren't included on Free.
How to install
- Get Pickscan from the WooCommerce Marketplace, then install it from your WooCommerce.com account or upload the plugin zip.
- Activate the plugin, open WooCommerce > Pickscan and follow the 3-step setup wizard. Generate API Keys Automatically creates the WooCommerce REST keys for you. It takes about 5 minutes.
- Optionally pair devices from Devices > Add Device and add users.
- Pick from the Pick tab or a device.
Requires WordPress 6.0+, PHP 8.0+ and WooCommerce 8.0+. The full guide is Installing and setting up Pickscan for WooCommerce, and there's more in the WooCommerce help section.
Pickscan is a hosted service. Order details, including the customer's name, address, email and phone, are sent to it and to paired devices so orders can be picked. See the privacy policy and terms.
What it doesn't do
- No batch or wave picking on WooCommerce. Pickers work through the order list one order at a time.
- No shipping labels or label printing. Keep using your shipping plugin for those.
- Bundles aren't supported at the pack station yet, only on the Pick tab and on phones and tablets.
- Products with no SKU or barcode can't be scan-verified.
- No purchase orders, returns, or multiple warehouses or locations.
Questions
Do I need special hardware?
No. Pick in the browser with a keyboard or any USB barcode scanner, or use the camera on an Android phone, iPhone or iPad. Rugged scanners help at volume but aren't required.
Does it mark orders Completed?
Only if you turn on Mark Order Completed When Picked. Otherwise it leaves the WooCommerce status alone. At the pack station, Mark Order Completed When Packed is on by default.
Will it scan my existing barcodes?
Yes. It matches the product SKU or the WooCommerce GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN field exactly.
Can several people pick at once?
Yes. Add users with PINs and pair as many devices as you like. Every scan is recorded against the user who made it.
Does it work on other platforms?
Yes. Pickscan also runs on Shopify, Linnworks, Veeqo, BigCommerce, EKM and Brightpearl. See pickscan.app.
